16 Day PTO too much ?

Is taking a 16 day PTO for vacation considered above normal ? I have taken a total of 10 PTO days last year and a few random sick days . This year I haven’t taken more than 5 days in total . So I plan to request 16 days off so I can get about 3 week of travel time in Europe . Is that a lot to ask? I usually see people in my company take one week off at a time . In reality people do end up taking more than 16 days but I feel like taking 16 days off in a single vacation might be too much ? I’ve been at this company for 2.5 years .

    If you have the time in the bank, then it's fine with enough notice. If it's unlimited leave, then consider that to be 20+ days per year, with probably 25 expected. Remember, unlimited is used as a positive feature, so it has to be more than you would have normally gotten, particularly as it's not paid out when you leave.

      Yeah we have unlimited PTO and that is obviously not unlimited but I feel that it might look like a lot because folks on my team only take 1 week off at a given time . So im hesitant to ask

    I have taken 4-5 weeks of PTO many times. Just make sure you are not on critical path for a project and set the expectation accordingly.

      No, just a few years. We have 4.5 months of baby bonding leave. You can take it as you want within a year.

      Are you the only one that takes that much time off or is it normal ? Because I feel like if everyone does it than it becomes easier to take time off like that
