Is it really capped at 160k. I can’t fathom how L7s and above swallow that low base? Don’t they make exceptions?
Edit: I understand that they are given large chunk of RSUs but then Amazon’s vesting schedule is kinda crummy. Moreover people don’t tend to sell their RSUs right at vesting. 160k seems too low for base at those levels.

SF Bay and NYC band is 185k.
Elsewhere for everyone it's 160k.
It is pretty ridiculous, especially as benefits like 401k are tied up around salary, and are already very bad, but at such low salary they become practically worthless.
People should start telling recruiters that it's not true that execs are still paid 160k, and start demanding at least 175k like A Jassy!
Other top-5 execs, including Jassy, have been paid between 160 and 175k for quite a while now.
