I recently gave the English test and my CRS score currently is 487. I have submitted my profile and most likely I’ll get ITA next round of express entry draws.

Here’s the thing I don’t want to move to Canada right now, but I am afraid the scores might jump again and I will lose 5 points in December (making the score to 482).

I could wait to apply looking at the cutoffs, that gives me more time to actually decide to move to Canada. But I am not getting any younger and it might be risky to wait. #tech #canadapr #immigration

What do you think? Is it wise to just take the PR right now or wait 1-2 years.

  • Ask yourself why do you want Canada PR? is it freedom of changing job? If so there is not much job there to move. Is it high TC? If so TC there is very much lower. Is it nicer people? Yes they may be more polite but not really treat you as insider. Is it better weather? No need to let me go about this, your pee will be frozen in winter. If you like slow life, less competition, super low TC but enough to live moderately, peace of mind on immigration, can boast to folks back home you finally moved out of the country then yes you should take it now.

  • Another thing to consider; there is a significant backlog in processing right now due to covid shutdowns. You might want to add around 6 months to processing time till PPR. Also, you can delay soft landing for around 6 months (if Medicals haven’t expired) so 1 year grace period there if that’s enough time

Yeah, so it will be 4 years before I have to move there realistically, even if I take the PR now. I am leaning forwards getting it right away as well.
