Had a software engineering internship at Lyft this summer. Got a full-time offer with $135k base, $45k sign-on, $65k stocks per year (~$250k first year).
I also have full-time offer from Salesforce with $138k base, $25k sign-on, $10k relo, $25k stocks per year (~$180k first year).
Which offer should I take? Honored to work at either. I already asked something similar a few weeks ago, but there have been some changes.
1. Prop 22 passed (which is good for Lyft) AND 2. Covid vaccines are making progress (so Lyft stock is doing much better) BUT 3. Lyft recently just had another round of layoffs. I think it’s just really risky to go to a company under the influence of both legislation AND covid. I believe that Lyft will be totally fine and thrive in a world post-covid, but I just really don’t want to get laid off before I even start and have to re-recruit.
ALSO, for those who work at either company, how hard is it to switch office locations? Ex: I currently work in the SF office, but I want to be transferred to the NYC office (even if that means leaving my current team).

I would take the Lyft offer, it has huge upside, but obviously layoff risk. Not too sure what their burn rate is looking like. Talk to some people internally about their idea. That new grad TC is insane though, grats.
