I interviewed at Meta's Reality Labs for a non-tech job. One of the interviewers appeared to be replying to work messages while interviewing me, and all of his field-specific questions were irrelevant to the type of work I'd be responsible for in this job. Needless to say, I don't think I'll get the job, because I'm not in the field he was asking questions for.

Should I report this to the recruiter? To the hiring manager?

      OP
I want the interviewer to be coached or selected less often for loops.

  • Just ask yourself - who would the company prioritize between you who hasn’t even cleared an interview yet and someone who already works them long enough to conduct interviews

IMO your best option is to accept the L and interview elsewhere

If you do get rejected, you can mention it to your recruiter as helpful feedback on their process, framed by “I respect the team’s decision”. They will want to know if the people chosen to conduct interviews are meeting their commitments, but I also wouldn’t expect your feedback to change the outcome.

Thank you. I'm not expecting it to change the outcome. I've interviewed over 100 people at Amazon, and I can't imagine being as unprepared as this person. I want the feedback to get back to him.
