Unlike most firms, my firm doesn’t require an MBA to rise the ranks and along with that they won’t pay for anyone to do an MBA. Now the question I have is that if I don’t do an MBA is that putting all of my eggs in 1 basket and banking on being here forever? I’m almost certainly going to try to do an MBA but the thought of the cost of one + opportunity cost of not working 2 years seems very high. Anyone make it at their firm without an MBA?

1) building your network; the people meet you through your MBA program will be the ones who you reach out to find talent, to get recruited in another firm, and potentially start companies with
2) you get 2 years to just 'age' and develop the maturity that you wouldn't necessarily have had 2years previously. i've heard 'oh i went to get my mba to just get older so I can be more fitting as a manager/partner'
Obviously, not getting your MBA is totally fine, but i've heard more good things about getting! :)
