I heard back from the recruiter that I'll be getting an offer from Bloomberg. How much pay should I expect? Any tips on negotiations? This is for their Enterprise Data License team
I don’t see how our tech is depressing. Mostly open source here and the only stain we have is Rapid which you just can’t escape that on most teams at BB.
Schonfeld seems to be ~1000 employees hedgefund, where engineering is likely to be a very small pool (per LinkedIn 93 engineers are on LinkedIn, but the number may be higher) Bloomberg is ~20k employees, with 1/3rd 6k employees in engineering. Bloomberg engineering is diverse enough with various techstack. You don't know what OPs situation is. BB could be step up from where they are. Also not everyone wants to get into FAANG. People's life choices and expectations are different.
How much PTO for bbg?
4 weeks with Max 1 week carry over to the following year. Unlimited sick but I've heard how much that's enforced varies per org
Is pto the same for entry level swe?
Did you get final offer ? Can you share with us what it was ?

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
Probably depends on your YOE. Are you joining as a senior hire or new grad? We only have two “levels” here.
Senior. 10 YOE
Should atleast be 300k at that YOE. It could go higher if you have competing offers from respectable companies.
