I have neither. I work close to 10 hours daily for $70K, with the possibility of being randomly assigned to oncall *any time* of the day , even at 3 am (no, I'm not an SRE or infra guy, but that's just the manager's expectation for all devs).
For those with shitty WLB, does your high TC make up for that?

You can't buy more time. Prioritize WLB.

If you know what it's like to truly be poor and have nothing, you know that feeling and the anxiety it produces is the worst of all. Bad wlb is nothing compared to not having anything to eat

I’m sure OP is able to eat just fine on $70k. I would definitely try to improve that situation since it seems way below market, but it is important to separate net worth, from self worth.

I understand where you’re coming from. The problem with an anxiety based mindset, is that no amount of money, will ever be ‘enough’ to make you feel secure.

Very true words . Once poor is extremely hard to get out of the mindset .. speaking from experience.

In my experience places that pay like shit treat you like shit, it's rarely the case that you're just trading comp for a chill low stress job. Maybe there's a point in a career where more money equals more stress but you're not nearly there yet.

Get a remote position that pays you 2-3x as much as you make now and don't accept an offer unless all WLB impacting policies (like pager rotations) are described in detail and sound fair.
