HOT TAKE: Unemployment numbers should be much higher
I take care of my mom in a place where no tech companies are. Ive loved Twitter for having a very agreeable WFH policy, but I'm not going to stick around if Elon buys. Who should I be leetcoding for? Front end engineer TC: 235k YOE: 5 years

It's Block now ;)
was going to reply with the same thing.
Meta has a ton of remote positions and google has some. Coinbase is fully remote but doesnât have great wlb
Are you leaving because of fear of losing WFH or for ideological reasons?
How are you so sure that Elon will get rid of WFH? Doesn't seem like a smart idea to just quit if he joins. Might as well wait to see if WFH policy gets changed before leaving.
He doesn't like wfh thingy.
@geyrurh Elon is a weirdo. He went on a rant talking about turning Twitter HQ into a homeless shelter since no one is there. Dude loves draining energy of employees
I'm having phone screen w Twitter this week, should i still consider?
The only real reason why anyone should leave Twitter is due to the possibility of privatizing Twitter which could mean layoffs (downsizing). So you have to keep that in mind
General dislike of Musk is valid as well, same reason many wonât consider Meta. Aside from layoffs, there are comp concerns wrt how equity comp will be made up once private. Could result in lower TCs across the board or paper money, and many people specifically avoid private company equity a la startups and the like.
Also in general, Elon is a no non-sense guy. None of his companies are rest and vest. Seeing as Elon just spent 43 billion of his own money, thereâs no way he will tolerate Twitterâs non-profitability. Heâs going to make Twitter deliver results, so RIP good WLB.
Amazon will lay
Come on over to Dropbox
Is Dropbox remote friendly and how does it compare to google in terms of work and wlb
Fully remote, similar WLB as G, no offices to even go back to. Main con is the stagnant stock which may see improvement long term. Also rumors of acquisition is always abound but unlikely.
LinkedIn is remote friendly
How is twitter TC so low? Iâm at a small startup (SoCal) with 250K TCâŠ
Front end. Maybe different than backend? IDK
Twitter is a retirement home basically
