Besides google, fb, any other companies having 1 year offer validation policy?

Maybe other companies have general hiring?

Basically I want to join next year end,and want to have two trials for each companies.

TC ~600k, do not want to leave right now.

  • Oh, you mean that they will honor your offer for a year. Google is the only company I've ever heard of doing that. Everyone else in tech generally wants you yesterday if they are hiring.

In short, only start actively job hunting when you're ready to bounce.

Recent experience: both Uber and Facebook told me their offers are valid for one year.

  • Of course 1 year is a long time from a team perspective, everybody agrees on that. It would make no sense to hold a position for that long.

However, general hiring where you are pre-cleared? (Like google where you find team later) ? It makes zero sense that it expires.

If you already generally proved that you are able to pass the bar, there is no point in expiring that. The only reason it expires is because they want to keep paying for interviewers ๐Ÿคท

Iโ€™ve never heard of a company necessarily โ€œholding a spotโ€ for you for a year. A year is a long time to guarantee that.
Without interviewing again at Amazon you can get another offer within 6 months (and some teams are piloting a year right now) and Google does the same, but the contingency is A) they have to have a role/need and B) there has to be mutual interest between you and the team.
So a very good chance of course, but not guaranteed.

Of course not holding the spot. It just means passing a standard process, which is valid for one year. That is why general hiring company may have a better chance to have a offer with long expiration date.

One year later, you still need to find a team, but don't need to do interview again.

1 year is a long time. You could be performing much better or much worse in that amount of time depending on what youโ€™ve been up to, and either under or overselling yourself.

      (Just my 2 cents)
