Avoid GM IT. It’s just things TCS, Infosys, HP, IBM, Cognizant, Accenture did that they just hire full time people for now.

Thanks. So they're bringing in the tech function in-house and building it with FT staff vs previously outsourced model? Do you have any insights on the org structure? E.g. is it Manager>Sr. Manager>Director>VP? Or something else?

I actually left GM two weeks ago. They laid off thousands just a few months ago. Now they’re in trouble for not treating the union workers right. They have useless middle managers called “people managers” who are just people who used to code but were bad at it and decided to start managing people instead. Hey GM, hire more product managers and program managers and get rid of these people managers.

I’d come to GM when you’re ready to retire. You won’t learn much. Atleast in my organization and team it seems like

Would it depend on which org/business ? What area in GM do you feel about in such a way ?

Do you offer referrals?

I would say stay away from manufacturing org (led by Ahmed Mahmoud). That guy is a has-been who pulls all the ppl with him when he leaves whichever company he works at, and creates meaningless work for everyone. The OnStar / gccx team is good I heard

Any insights on their corporate business (non-manufacturing/IT)?
