Has anyone here been screwed over by negotiating and accepting a TC/Level higher than they would have expected?

Wondering if the expectations change significantly if you accept an offer for a level higher than your current job- and if anyone has had a bad experience with it

If you cannot adapt quickly enough, yeah you’re screwed

that’s regardless of your level, ain’t it. No matter what level/tc you come in- you will be expected to adapt quickly

You’re correct, but my point was, depending on your expectations and capabilities, you may need to adapt a lot or not so much. You’ll have to adapt regardless, yep

  • I had this experience. It was pretty tough and stressful in the first 6 months. Looking in retrospect, I adapted and grown a lot in the short period.
Overall my TC increased significantly, and I jumped 3 levels with this position. I though a lot to quit b/c of stress and long hours of work. Any questions in particular? Where are you planning to go?
