I could, but I have a huge disdain for people that only chase the money. Especially when asked what they like to do in order to give them more relevant answers.

Let's just chalk it up to a miscommunication. My fault

Wasn’t only chasing money. I asked money because it’s what everyone on this app talks about and money is directly correlated to impact/interesting problems.

I appreciate your response though 👍

If you know coding and security you are worth your weight in GOLD. Certs do help.

I know coding, security, and systems reliability/monitoring. Want to refer me? I’m currently stuck interviewing for a team idc about in msft and the recruiter doesn’t want to switch me over to another team

    CISSP is a catch all.

SANS certs are great for blue teamers and defenders.

OSCP/OSCE for pen testers and red teamers.

DM me for details if you have questions.

    Source: me.

Certs aren't particularly useful for appsec or seceng style roles. Moreso for the IT side of security.

That is fair, some certs are not completely worthless. OSCP is decent, OSCE needs to be updated if it hasn't already. CISSP is CISSP. I guess I should amend my initial comment to be more don't chase certs to fluff up a resume.

Depends on which country you plan to be in. Certain countries/culture/industry favor certs more than others.

A better place to search and connect with security community is Twitter. Much of your answer is going to depend on what security role you want.
