silicon valley companies

I want to move to SF from Seattle, for my BF. I’m level 60 at MSFT (one level below SD2). Can I get a SD2 role if I interview for another company outside? how do the levels work? I was thinking of applying to Google, Fb, Lyft, Airbnb, Pinterest, Stripe, Square, Asana, Rohinhood, Rubrick. Are there other companies with great work culture and good diversity? Why? Have him go to Seattle. You make more in Seattle

He hates the overcast, rainy weather :(

It doesn’t rain as much as people say it does, although it’s very overcast.

Microsoft transfer, if possible would be one more possibility. LinkedIn is Microsoft’s subsidiary but a good choice as well. Uber, Roku, DoorDash (I think it’s local) are another. Then Netflix as well if you’re okay with the culture.

They won’t give a level or salary increase if I transfer within msft.

I would see if you guys could transition to the east coast or Texas because SF future isn’t look pretty economically.

Will do! Afaik only New York and Boston have a good tech scene in the east coast?

Yeah in my opinion, those are the only best. D.C. is cool too. I have a buddy who works at a startup $170k starting as a Software Engineer but he’s young. I choose East Coast because I hate driving lol. Wasted expense.

Does anyone know how the levels work?
