If you want status and more friends, MBA is better.
With MBA you also likely lose 2 years of earnings, which is huge $$-wise, and you likely won't learn as much about how to make your own personal investments better.
CFA is done. Only jobs that CFA helps train for is equity research and portfolio management, and both of these profiles are vanishing with automation. MBA helps keeps your options open, provides better job opportunities and is very well recognized. Try for an m7 MBA though.
CFA = DAP
You decide
CFA is merit based- they accept everyone, but less than 20% finish the program.
MBA (top 10) is acceptance based- they accept less than 20%, but everyone finishes the program.
CFA will allow you excel in and continue your job that you want to be in, MBA will help you get the job you want to be in via the connections
Top 10 MBA and CFA are both moving in the same direction- away from active asset management- and towards private wealth management, corporate finance, and corporate governance/stewardship
