Most of the product based companies ask system design (HLD+LLD) questions from people with 2+ yoe. I have got 4 years of SW experience but almost no experience in System Design. Simply looking at the interview questions, it seems that these can be answered with a month of preparation from YouTube videos. I would like to know if that is enough for someone with 4 yoe to survive and grow in the company with that much knowledge and no experience in system design, if the interview is cracked? Asking from Indian companies perspective only. Thanks!

  • It is if you are motivated, I had very little experience working on large systems before joining Sharechat; cleared interviews based off of things I learnt in blogposts, InfoQ vids.

Day to day work is good and I am learning a lot. Maybe consider it like this, what if you get selected, join the company and get to learn a lot isn’t that exciting ?

As for surviving, will get back to you after 1 year πŸ˜‚ but think will be okay mostly.
