Product and program lead responsibilities in software are designated to senior IC.
It makes sense because software mainly only interfaces with other vehicle engineering groups.
There are people at spacex in other areas with traditional PM backgrounds, though. Probably most interesting is Mission Management. I don't know what pay is like but I imagine that would be a very satisfying role for a PM.
That makes total sense! I am a software Pm, so I am not sure if I have the right skills for mission management. I assume it would require a lot of domain expertise.

That might be a thing at some point but it's still early stages
