L63 with 2yoe? Management degree?

McKinsey lundWala OP Dec 19, 2019

Yeah

L63 is the the minimum grade level for a senior position. That way you'll have the room to grow.

How ru 240k with 2yoe at McK? 240 sounds like second year post mba associate salary

McKinsey lundWala OP Dec 19, 2019

Yeah lol basically that

Google muDb40 Dec 19, 2019

So more than 2 years yoe :)

McKinsey lundWala OP Dec 19, 2019

Plus many ap struggle to find those exits these days

Google muDb40 Dec 20, 2019

Guess you’re not ok with being a VP of a paper mill company in Ohio etc

McKinsey lundWala OP Dec 20, 2019

Haha pass

Google muDb40 Dec 19, 2019

Owh...haha...WLB or projects not that interesting?

McKinsey lundWala OP Dec 19, 2019

Wlb, plus no one here knows tech

Google muDb40 Dec 19, 2019

At any rate PM at msoft is a solid exit

McKinsey lundWala OP Dec 19, 2019

Pm means program manager..? Could I move from technical program manager at msft to a product manager role at fang..?

Salesforce chatter! Dec 19, 2019

I thought Microsoft uses program manager title for product management function/role.

Google muDb40 Dec 19, 2019

Yeah msoft PgM can be more like product manager I’ve heard. Should be fairly easy to move to Amzn as Prod Manager (you probably don’t need msoft can exit from McK as L6 PM to Amzn)

Microsoft bdzjskc Dec 20, 2019

That can be a great role, but it depends on the team and part of organization. Also, it lets you transition to tech. Most common exit opportunity is product management at another tech enterprise or startup. I've seen a few VCs or startup founders too.

McKinsey lundWala OP Dec 20, 2019

Awesome yeah I’ve seen a few people go elsewhere doing PM stuff after PgM at msft, just wanted to check with the community since y’all are the TC experts here.
