I have about 12 years of ASIC Design experience with Ph.D. I got an offer from automotive chip startup, and will be IPO or merged very soon. seems company is preparing for this. Current revenue is $60M. location is Irvine, CA Base Pay: 175K, Equity (pre ipo) : RSU 180k worth. (4 years vesting) Year on year appraisal would get me ( based on company revenue) - maybe some cash bonus. Any comments/ advice on above numbers.
Without knowing much about the startup it's difficult to judge whether this overall deal might pan out for you. The comp doesn't seem generous. It's 175k plus paper money. I feel if you take the risk being paid in paper, it needs to be a whole lot more.
This. I'm in this situation. Be sure you get enough base as if the stocks will never exist.
