stripe upside?
I’m considering interviewing at Stripe and similar size startups. I’ve heard good things about the upside and culture at Stripe? Can someone from Stripe please comment on this? yoe: 3 tc: 300

I have a few friends there, the code quality varies greatly depending on what bit of the code base you’re in. There’s active efforts to modernize most areas to reduce the chance of outages. They have a type checking system that they built called Sorbet (sorbet.org) and have a good set of VS Code extensions.

I’m interested too. Heard good things about the culture. but the ruby tech stack makes me concerned about how much of daily work is about legacy code base and how much is building new stuff.

Ruby’s got a bad reputation because it doesn’t have types, and rails. We don’t use rails, and built Sorbet to add type inference & editor integrations.
