For those of you who went through PIP and made it, how did you do it? Team transfer? Met the action items? Or interviewed and GTFO before PIPed?
Which company? Amazon and msft pips are mostly giving you grace time to find another jobs since they cannot fire you right away
Is Salesforce better? Thinking of moving there (currently interviewing) but don’t want to move to another PIP focused firm.
In general. I work for a small app company (300 total hires) and don't think they have a formal PIP process. As a former HM, I know when it's coming though and curious how others respond. Looking to GTFO ASAP and quit the manager (which is why I am leaving) rather than deal with PIP bs.
When I was a lot younger and fresh to the workforce in one of my first roles, I had some attendance issues. I was always late, oversleeping or otherwise. I grew out of it and met the requirements (0 absences, late once because of a flat tire). I haven’t been PIPed since. This was back in 2015.
For what it’s worth, I was 18 years old. I just couldn’t seem to get used to working all the time while my peers got to go to school and slack off. But I had bills and rent to pay.
Performance based PiP is a black hole. No?
Usually yes. The expectations can be so vague that their is no measurable way to quantify your output in meets/doesnt meet.
PIP is made for you to quit/fire you. You're on the blacklist in any case
Lol. Either quitting or firing will get you to whatever blacklist/greylist the company has. Hell, I'd say getting fired is even more likely for that to happen so what you're saying makes ZERO sense
You should ask whether you want to survive a PIP before you do all the work necessary. When you’re on a PIP, the smartest thing is to spend your energy getting a new job before they fire you, which is how 90% of PIPs end.
Agreed. Stop focussing on work because there is no incentive. Instead, focussing on interview prep to GTFO is the most optimal solution when put on pip.
Never been on a PIP but my suggestion is GTFO
