I would like to know how easy it is to switch teams internally @ Apple? Have an offer for a role which is not in line with my current experience or career goals. If I join this team now, is there a min time before I can look for other opportunities internally?
1 yr required
Thanks for responding
Depends on the team. It's not that easy and your manager can make it very difficult if they want to. In many cases you have to go through same interviews as external folks and it really sucks. Then your manager says he needs you on a project for 6mo and that team needs people now so you miss the chance. Politics at Apple can suck
It's not easy to switch teams for sure.
If the job is not on the team you want you should not take it. Internal mobility is not predictable and you will end up getting stuck. $0.02
Dont
Not always easy, many teams like to hire external expert and current manager can sabotage your transfer.
Does trying to switch teams cause any risk to my current position ? If I try unsuccessfully, would my manager hold grudge and reduce my bonus / stocks in the next review cycle ? Also, can I try give interviews with other teams without informing my current manager at Apple ?

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
Not all that difficult but must be in current role 1 year.
Is 1 year mandatory company forced requirement or just good to do?
I call BS. If you want to switch, you better do a good job networking internally. Otherwise, the teams treat you as if you are an external candidate. I reached out to multiple teams while there and they didn't care that I was already at Apple.
