I didn't join fb because of the mission or because of the salary. I was cynical about the mission and the salary bump wasn't that much for me. I joined because the scale of opportunities I saw there were unparalleled and because everyone that I met in my interviewing process were impressive and excited.
Now that I'm here - I'm staying because of the mission (I actually believe in what we do and I lost the cynicism), the tc (making 4 times what I did when I joined) and still - thr scale and recognition that I've been getting.
I'm not in m 20s, I e already grown enough to learn that high TC doesnt put a smile on your face. If you only join a place for comp you'll be miserable.
The funny thing is many fb people want to go out.
