Hey Blinders,
Amidst this uncertainty, there will be a few companies who would survive and thrive in coming years.
Based on past performance of current FAANGs and financials of current startups, which ones would end up becoming the newer FAANGS or would consolidate themselves?
Stripe? Shopify? Any else?
Thanks.

Here’s why: there hasn’t been a technological or cultural shift big enough to warrant the birth of a new FAANG. People forget Microsoft and Apple were born at a time when the concept of a “personal computer” was weird. Google and Amazon came along when people were still getting used to this thing called the internet. Netflix does not deserve to be in the same conversation. It’s a media company.
Companies like Stripe are super well executed and perfectly modeled the FAANG playbook but they did not take advantage of a technological/cultural shift, and so are merely an iterative improvement. They will always have competition and not true monopoly power. It’s much more likely for crypto technology to get so good and well regulated that the world gets unlimited, instant, free payments, then for Stripe and Visa/Mastercard to charge 3% + 30 cents a transaction forever. Technology always wins.
