Toronto vs Santa Clara Offers (Mechanical Engineer)

Looking to get some thoughts on the two "Mechanical Engineer" offers. Is it worth it relocating to the Bay area when factoring in prospects, quality of life, cost of living, etc. 1. Cummins / Hydrogen Fuel Cells / 100k CAD (~80k USD) / Toronto, Canada 2. Applied Materials / CMP / 125k USD + 20k Stock (4yr vesting) / Santa Clara YOE 4, BASc, Currently reside in Toronto #appliedmaterials #cummins #mechanicalengineer #toronto #santaclara #semiconductor #offer

What’s your motivation to move to Toronto? Where are you right now? Why Canada vs the US? This is a very subjective decision

Forgot to mention I am in Toronto right now, so the decision is, is it worth it to relocate to santa clara when comparing future opportunities and compensation.

If you are looking to move to US just because of TC, the bump here might not worth the hassle. Bay area pay should be significantly higher. Personally I won't consider relocating unless at least 2x TC.

Not worth it to relocate to the Bay Area for such low pay. I’m surprised that Applied gives such low stock grants nowadays.
