Revenue divided by number of employees is NOT how much you make for the company

That would imply that if you left, the company’s revenue would go down by that amount. But of course it wouldn’t. Because you’re part of a team, not the center of the universe.

I see this bullshit thinking all the time on Blind, so I just wanted to clarify.

Sir, that’s not how that works at all. Revenue per employee is an efficiency metric. The higher this number the better the company is at producing revenue using its people

remove all employees and you'll earn zero. now start putting back one employee back into the funnel. a lot would be made. add one more, and then one more and so on. sqrt of number of employees do half the work according to peureto principal. hence you can calculate how much you make for the company more or less. also factor in seniority in all this. but anyway, company won't pay you more than the value it gets out of you. so it's safe to assume you get paid 10% of what you generate for the company. hence if you're working more than 4 hours a week, you're getting exploited as a resource in this capitalistic society, which is by design. by the tone of your post, it seems like you like getting exploited so you won't agree to all this.

and to answer your last part of the question, yes the revenue of company will go down by x amount if you leave. the project will take longer to complete, hence losing money in this market.

Op I agree you should judge your worth on how much your company is worth divided by employees. Good suggestion

Then again, if the whole team left revenue might drop with more than the number of team members times that calculated number. So we use the average, because it’s simple enough, and reasonably comparable between different companies.
