Remembering one of my friends who interviewed for Staff eng at twitter, after a long discussion about a specific feature for the product, mostly spent on hypothetical nonsense solutions by my friend.
At the end:
Interviewer: So are you even familiar with the product? Do you have a twitter account?
My friend ( feeling desparate): Honestly don’t have an account, but kinda familiar.
Interviewer: Uh! I should have guessed! No worries! I don’t have an account either!
@Levi - The one on my team who takes 4-5 weeks off is a good performer and probably gets her job done in a couple hours per day, which is not necessarily uncommon for mid level ICs. Harder to do if you're a manager but I do know some managers who take long vacations here and they have solid teams and good reputations.
