You get promoted from SDE to Senior during your time at a company.
On resume/LinkedIn: Is it better to just say Senior at [company name] or to show that you were SDE for some time and then Senior after that at [company name]?

I prefer that people show the transition and duration of roles they held within the same company.

I’ve seen some folks just put Director for their company for the past 13 years, which really dashes the whole point of trying to portray how your grew professionally from point A to point B.

You were not senior the whole time. That should give you the answer. For resumes, you might merge them to save space if you had many roles though, but still indicate you were promoted to that role
