  • I decline to answer. The definition of disability now covers most people.

  • Some companies like google might have a hiring pipeline in place if you have a disability, especially if you fall into the umbrella of “neurodiverse” (usually ASD, ADHD). To my knowledge companies that care about that have a separate hiring pipeline and you’d disclose separately from the “government requires us to see if we are hiring ppl with disabilities” question all large companies are required to ask.

Anecdotal: For reference this application cycle I said fuck it in the middle of things and just started disclosing all over, most companies never brought it up and it didn’t seem like the recruiter had access (didn’t ask if I needed accommodations or anything). The few that did were because I literally disclosed to a team to ask for accommodations or because of a specific diversity hiring initiative. Ultimately it didn’t seem to make a difference 🤷 but that might be because I am not applying for technical roles like data scientist or SWE
