Say I am leaving my current job on a Friday, and I am starting the new job on the very next Monday....will I have any insurance over the weekend, via my current job?
My current insurance is Kaiser

    Most (all?) plans cover you till the end of the month by default. I wouldn't worry about the weekend but maybe don't go bungee jumping...

    COBRA offers retroactive insurance from the last job for 60 days

    Plus, often policies are by the month, so it's advised to quit on the first of the month to get the subsidy for the cheap insurance for the whole month.

  • Nope, you're new insurance is from your start date. What a lot of people do is leave their old job early in the month as your insurance will remain active to the end of the month.
