Please read this and learn something. The amount of effort that these companies go through to predict prices is insane. Unless you are engaging in insider trading, you don’t know shit compared to them about the micro- and macro-economic forces at play for a company. Please stop lying to yourself and face your “stock trading” for what it is: stock gambling.

  • Oh boy, media has absolutely brainwashed troves of people to believe they cannot beat the market. Trading usually gets you nowhere in most cases, but heck fundamental investing over longer durations you totally stand a chance. Especially if you ignore the common advice of diversifying and instead stick to stuff you really really understand. I run a very concentrated portfolio of 5-8 stocks and have outperformed markets since past 3 years now. I could not do it in 2 years prior to that because I was falling into pitfalls of fear and FOMO and was investing in stuff I did not understand well. A change in investing philosophy and mindset made a world of difference to my portfolio. Heck even with all this coronavirus led selloff, I am still doing better than all indexes.

So no, do not think something is not doable just because you are not able to do it.
