      A lot of people are interviewing with multiple companies and have multiple offers. Best case scenario is maximizing comp at the team/company you want to join

      It matters quite a bit depending on where you live. $100k in the Bay is enough to live but not necessarily to thrive depending on your debt and other situations.

  • If you don't believe people here on COL for places like Bay Area. Family of 4, house/large enough apartment is 4k-5k/mn easy. If you take the high end of that range it's 60k/yr post tax. Pretax at 33% effective tax already 90k pretax income. This isn't including food, insurance, clothing, vacation, etc.

    If you have a family to support, 100k is barely breaking even.
