It matches me with caregivers that violate the filters I’ve put in place, and then charges me a $40 “cancellation fee” for the booking that does not meet my explicit criteria. Being that my company provides free legal assistance, I dug deeper in to this. It turns out that this actually qualifies as wire fraud. So if Wag continues to refuse to refund their fraudulent cancellation fee, I’m going to pursue this to the fullest extent, which likely leads to Wag paying hefty fines and perhaps even forbidden from operating in my state Any wag personnel want to comment on what it’s like to work for a company with shit-tier UX and engineering whose business model relies on committing fraud? #wag #rover

What next?
I wouldn’t use any business that was propped up by Masayoshi’s bullshit vision fund.
As someone who walks for Wag on the side for fun, as I love dogs, they really are a crappy company for both owners and walkers. Unless you need walks on off hours (and even then, I would be more inclined to use people on Rover that you can vet beforehand), I am not sure why anyone would actually use Wag. It is expensive, their tech is terrible, and the customer service is deplorable. As a walker, I am annoyed as they are trying to go to more of a Rover model and allowing clients to reach out directly to book; however, those who were reaching out were well outside the area I walk and have my app set to. (Small 2 mile radius, I was getting requests in the ‘burbs that are 10+ miles away) If you need a regular walker, use a local company, if not, I would go with Rover.
"Vet" your dog walker 😂
Thought they went bankrupt?
Free legal assistance. Tell me more about that.
