Hey guys,I recently passed the capital one power day and going through their team matching process. I did some research about the TC for their Sr. Associate (Backend) role. The number seems to be varying a lot. Although I don't need to go to the office, my primary location will be Plano TX. I was wondering if anyone can share what to expect for this role. I was thinking about asking for 140k TC. Not sure if it's too low or high or in the middle. Any advice would be appreciated.

Current TC: 125k
YOE: 3

  • Aside from TC. Choose your team carefully during the matching. I hate my assigned team cuz I ignored one or two red flags I spotted when talking to the HM. My coworkers are basically heartless robots. There are a lot of good teams though.

  • Ask for a base of $135k and a signing bonus of $15k. TDPs who just got promoted and have only been at C1 a year are at $130k+ base so I’d suggest aiming a little higher.

  • There are SAs that make that much in base but probably in McLean and NYC. In tc, base + bonus, I think 140k is possible

  • Don’t ask for $140k TC bc you just might get it.

For reference, C1 recruiters will consider 401k match as part of TC, so when I started at C1 as an SA with $123k base/$11k max bonus they calculated a $155k TC due to 401k match mostly.

You’re in Plano, so the band will be a bit lower, but in McLean the midpoint salary is $135k and the max is $167k.

So shoot for the highest salary you can, and definitely ask for more on the bonus side no matter what.

  • In terms of sign on, 15-22k should be negotiable. I think currently base pay is like 140k in McLean so you should be able to get 120-126k base in Plano
