Have 3 great choices in front of me. Here is what I am looking to optimize:
0 - Growth opportunity. Building skills and connections that will set me up for life in this industry.
1 - Comp. Have only started negotiations. I have historically been a high performer and would value perf based bonus. I like the idea of some pre-IPO risk. I want to work hard and get rewarded for it. I assume these 3 will compete on #s.
2 - Recognition within industry. I want companies to drool over my resume.
3 - no mediocrity in the employee pool at all. I am so done with design reviewing half baked pieces of shit and all that comes with the low MS hiring bar.
4 - passion and people who take pride in their work and company, irrespective of team boundaries. People who help out even though you're on a different team, because they know it's good for them and the company.
I'm 62 or 63, 2 - 4 yrs exp.

2) you can get FB, G, and U to match each other’s offers if offers are the same level
3) FB and G are a bit more “drooled over” than U, but they’re all drooled over
4) you’ll find mediocrity everywhere. Interesting projects tend to attract the best talent. As far as “talent goes” the ‘best’ team at yahoo is likely better than the worst team at FB/G/U
5) passion also varies team by team in all companies. Passionate people are attracted to interesting projects
So, with 4 and 5, make sure that the teams you’re joining at U or G would be doing interesting work. FB does matching after acceptance so hard to weigh in there.
Currently FB, can't speak for G
1. Uber takes the cake. You can get promoted and grow FAST if you put in the work.
2. FB will win in comp, especially as you become more senior. Uber will not win unless it's IPO doubles or triples.
3. FB = G > U
4. More mediocrity in Uber, but more people are "rest and vest" at Fb. So essentially tomato tomato
5. Definitely Uber. Fb Employees don't even use the product. Uber is making big, controversial changes that challenges and motivates employees and filters out those who can't stomach bad press in light of the mission. People stay at Fb because of the perks, pay, and stability.
Personally, I'm thinking of boomeranging back to Uber. It's boring here
That sounds exactly like Fb nowadays
