I see this a lot on blind and have started to feel it to.

I have a pretty substantial TC (740k), which is less than some of you, but still 10x the national average.

However, I still feel guilty about spending any money. Something in my head just wants to save even if the thing I'm buying would improve my life for a trivial amount (relative to income).

Has anybody successfully changed their mindset to start actually spending and enjoying their money rather than saving it for a day that is never gonna come?

I made 1.2M TC last year and still tip $0.01. No regrets.

  • What's your job security like? Will you keep that income well into your 60s/70s?

Buying things does not always give happiness. Once you have realized that you will stop being mizer. If there is something that can make you happy, buy it .. no other way to put it

  • Think about how much of that money you’ll be able to take with you if/when you die... the answer is none. Enjoy it while you still can

  • Set a percentage to give to a cause you support. Doesn’t need to be large just consistent. Make it monthly to get in the habit. Read the info on how your money helped other. Reap good karma, good vibes and good habits.
