I started hating this fucking interview process and companies

May 23, 2020 164 Comments

I've been doing LC everyday, and I have given more than 300 interviews since 2009. Every interview I did decent to great. Some of them are no brainier to get me an offer. But still ended up getting the FUCKING rejection email.

The great interviews, I feel these people are rejecting mainly because of their EGO ? or out of their job security ? WHAT EVER.

I hate this process. I hate these companies. I started hating computer science. I've been coding / practicing / studying my FUCKING whole life just to get the FUCKING rejections from these EGOISTIC people.

I'm not applying through any referrals, I don't have anyone in USA. but I'm genuine. Not faking my resume or experience like the Indian consultancies. So no referral no job ? Then FUCK OFF YOU COMPANIES. Learn from Yahoo, they were No 1 during 1990's. Now there are no more. We all here just temporarily. help each other, help the talent, help genuine people. Otherwise YOU ENDED UP GETTING FAKE PEOPLE IN YOUR COMPANY.

I'm Done. I can't give any more interviews.

TC: DON'T GIVE A FUCK
YOE: USELESS AS SHIT.

  • You have been rejected for over 10 years, and your conclusion is every interviewer is egotistic, and you consider yourself genuine?

Also, you are giving up on your career because people who don't know you wouldn't give you recognition? Do you really believe you are good at what you do to deserve an offer?

  • OP, some honest truths here, you can either take it as constructive criticism and grow or get defensive and freak out. Here I go:

    1. Your attitude is shit. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is madness. You need to first accept there is a problem. YOU have a problem, as others are getting hired left and right.

    2. Identify the problem. Your written English needs improvement, so I can only surmise your communication isn't clear either. I can guarantee this 100% - if you are fluent and well put together when communicating, you are far more likely to pass an interview than when you're 100% there technically but have problems communicating. This is because a software engineering job isn't just sitting in a bunker and writing code all day. You're solving problems for the company, and all day long you have to deal with the others in your company.

    3. You seem to have a lot of entitlement around "not being a fake resume consultancy guy". Who gives a fuck about this? 99% of the other applicants to FAANG are also not fake resume consultancy guys. For FAANG, or MSFT, you show up on the day of your interview, your interview performance and the way you talk or describe your work is what matters. Your resume gets you through the door, is all - and clearly you're getting through the door regardless.

    4. Yes, the interview paradigm has changed a lot. But for senior folks, more than LC, they ESPECIALLY need to see leadership, maturity, architecture and communication skills. From your juvenile post you're clearly lacking in the first two, and probably the last. You're probably technically proficient, no doubt, but you're placing a far far higher value on this than the other things, and this is probably undoing you in interviews.

Work on your soft skills. Take 6 months to sharpen the other aspects of your armory that aren't as powerful as your LC. And of course, try and get better with your technical skills if you feel those need improvement as well.

At the end of the day life is not a race. You're in America. Well employed and living a good life compared to 99% of people that have ever existed or exist right now. I don't get all the anger around "playing with your life". You make your own life, and your life should be about work to a point, if you feel your life is so interlinked to getting offers or good interview performance from a company, you should consider counseling.

    Best of luck

This op is a real tool. People are giving him honest good advice that are worth thousands of dollars in the market. Try to get a coach. See how much it costs.

But this moron still thinks soft skills are for pansies and created by hr. I read all the comments above. Op is a guy who thinks full of himself and thinks he is better than most just because he can write some code.

People like these never accept criticism and treat anyone who shows his deficiencies as an enemy.

Wait. You’ve interviewed with 300 companies and they’ve *all* been rejections?
