But the cost of running a global system of warehouses and delivery vehicles means that there will likely be a couple of big competitor jockeying with one another, the way there are only a couple of cellular networks.
I expect we'll see consolidation among the small players until it's Amazon vs Walmart vs a conglomeration of everyone else. I expect Shopify, Wayfair, eBay, Chewy and all the others to eventually merge due to the economy of scale benefits of sharing a network. Maybe FedEx will merge with it all as well.
Ditto with AWS. A big compute facility is expensive to maintain so it'll likely end up being 2-3 big competitors, AWS vs Azure and maybe one more behemoth followed by some really small niche players.
Alexa though is easily copied. I don't see any moat or even business model around it.
