  In my experience its this. Rarely do the everyday devs get pay. Keep in mind wars are always going on around the world. There is always plenty of opportunities but I bet you haven’t seen any major bonuses OP?

No. While in tech developers are valuable resources that drive free cash flow plus market capitalization, in defense they’re a cost center. Compensation follows accordingly.

OP could probably quadruple their compensation by moving to tech.
