I’m joining Uber and background check is one of tasks, why the background check is after you signed the contract...? anw, I’ve resigned from previous company.. I didn’t lie anything, any possibilities the offer to be rejected?

Is it the first time you're changing your job? That's a standard process. You're signing offer, then they are doing background check.

Background check might take weeks. When I joined square, my background check took two weeks because company I worked for before didn't care to call back and confirm my employment. Plus they reached out to school I graduated from (outside of the USA). But as I know uber's background check is not that slow.
