People talking like Dara murdered the reporter. He is just expressing his opinion about the murder. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.
He seems like a shitty guy
Yikes
Usually Dara has a pretty strong showing publicly, but this was the all-time low. I mean I get it, they’re on the board because they own a shit-ton of shares. But fuck man, don’t downplay murder. Granted the interviewer kind of bated him into that position, and he *did* say he likely wouldn’t attend the next investment conference in Saudi for ethical reasons, but really, “ask for forgiveness?” What the fuck.
Also granted, when you listen to the interview it sounds a lot less horrible than the media makes it out to be. But it’s still a shitty thing to say regardless of context.
Media should give the same level of attention to the big fish (namely government) who are continuing to deal with SA business as usual. If your leaders set that example, why the surprise/outrage when some random company follows it? Let’s face it - all this is just for show. Not working with Saudis is not a realistic option for most countries.
What you idiots forget is that Saudis hold a major stake in Uber. You bash them, they pull out and Uber stock would be even shittier than now. He’s protecting the shareholders. Follow the money, you’ll get your answer to most questions in life. People will do and say shitty things for money.
Why should have the employees feel ashamed. It’s a job not a cult.
People cancel cancel Harvey Weinstein and Louis CK and Aziz Ansari for being rapey and sketchy. Rightfully so. Yet no one has the spine to cancel a Saudi prince for murder bc...money. Pathetic.
And oil too. No one stopped using cars with saudi oil.
Wow, that's fucked up. A mistake makes it sound like they just accidentally murdered and dismembered him.
