First day offer asked my base pay expectations. I asked for 210k. said manager is not making more than that and said she will discuss and come back. They use a third party company to pin down the salaries. Once hr came back, the base pay is set in STONE at 191k. No sign on bonus, no room for negotation. Is it true they dont negotiate ? They need a motive to provide sign on bonus like an offer from some other company, etc. After I mentioned of upcoming onsite, they are saying they will proceed with other interviewers and offer may not be available in a week. So basically, sounds like i am being cornered. Do suggest what can be done. How to make negotiations to turn in my favor. Or to put in another way, they are not willing to negotiate for sign-on.
191k base for 5a is very good actually. If this is for 5b then it’s a bit low.
@catburglar don't know what you are asking.
Sounds like they know your current comp and know this is a bump for you. They are full of shit about the offer “disappearing” like that, that’s just a normal recruiter tactic
Correct. Even if there are other good candidates there's no reason why they can't hire all of you.
That's true. I will have to know how important my candidature for the roke.
I recently received an offer and like OP mentioned they didn't negotiate much. I was able to get some additional RSUs and sign on as I had competing offers. Mine was for 5b.
May I know your compensation for 5b.. and what is your yoe
OP: Please DM me
Sorry I am not set up for that.. will do once it is ready.. thanks though
Sure, no problem.
Would you mind sharing your RSU?
What is the vesting schedule?
Annual Refresh value minimum of 105k
Which vests in 3 years and the new hire rsu is 715k over 4 years.. these vest 175k per year
I found Uber barely budged on the initial offer at all, though was able to negotiate a sign-on. Competing offers will be the only thing that can help you!
When did you get the offer.. is it recent..which group
