heard uber seattle culture is not as toxic as the headquarter. how true is this? how are cross team politics in engineering?
I interviewed with the Uber Seattle (want to refrain from mentioning the team) 3/5 of the interviewers were so incompetent. I had to explain basic concepts of caching and the behavioral felt so pointless since you can see their disinterest in listening to your answers on their face evidently. Not sure if all teams are like this, I gave very bad feedback when asked
What does toxic mean exactly?
Backstabbing, not collaborative, only watch out themselves
Does that work at any big companies? Itd be impossible to get anything done without working collaboratively.
There's adults in the room. It's more laid back than headquarters, and people have lives outside of work.
It’s okay, obviously depends on the team.
