Why are Amazon recruiters always pinging me for interviews?

Aug 29, 2021 7 Comments

Already rejected them 2 years ago for not being able to complete with Fb. Their offer was for SDE2 while Fb offer was for E5 with a TC difference of 200K.

Since then I have been promoted to E6, with TC (W2) getting closer to 700K.

Can Amazon even beat that TC? They are asking me to take a online test first; am I still being considered for SDE2?

PS. This post stems from genuine curiosity with a desire for humble brag.

I get recruiters from all FAANG and many non faang reaching out to me multiple times daily.

If you are in software at a faang, you will have recruiters reaching out to you. It is the way of the world.

As the largest employer in FAANG, you will logically see more recruiters from amazon than the others.

    Why is this always asked

Ps: they recently majorly updated comp bands for new hires. I think they are competitive now but not sure about future stock growth tbh

  • Playing hard to get with that online test. No one wants to respond with interest, let alone take a test.

  • It's called a recruiting strategy. Just ignore if you're not interested and be glad someone is even interested in you. Start to worry when no one reaches out LOL. Companies, teams, and people change so why wouldn't they reach out?

There is high chance that, messages you’re receiving is part of recruitment process initiated by different recruiters from different orgs.

At initial stage, they won’t check your past records, either because they don’t know it exists or haven’t read complete history. In either case, if you initiate the conversation, it will come up within 1-2 phone conversation.
