TL;DR
Do you chase more TC because you have financial reasons to or because you think you need to for some superficial reason (Status, maybe?). Poll added. Include other reasons in comments.
I recently joined Blind and though it’s only been a couple of days I’m almost at the point where I want to give a 2 week notice for a position which I haven’t even started yet. Lol.
Blind’s opened my eyes to the SWE market and I’m grateful for the knowledge and value of this app but I feel like I’m gonna be influenced to spend only 6-12 months max at any company. I wanna be a TC CHASER
Why do you “TC chase”?

That and the freedom that comes with the money is all I care about. The money itself is just a means to an end.
You gotta look out for yourself. I don’t want to be 60 retiring. I plan to be retired by 45 ideally. And doing the same job for less just sets me up for failure down the road in that aspect.
I work to live. I will never live to work and if that’s what a company wants, it’s not a good fit anyways.
So anything that lets me save ~300k a year is okay with me. I’ve hit the point now where I don’t feel the need to tc chase. I’m fine being here for the next 5 years, at which point I can take more risks in my career.
