I’ll be doing a presentation on performance management and flaws of stack ranking/ performance reviews systems. And I need as much as possible stories, comments and etc of everything unfair, stupid and illogical, boring, tiresome you experienced through performance reviews sessions. if you really like getting through performance reviews, I’d love to hear from you! On Rakuten performance reviews, from an older post of mine: As you probably know, we have to write a paragraph about how we exemplify each of about a dozen corporate philosophies, plus a detailed review of how we accomplished five to seven KPI goals six months ago. For those of us who have been on the job for more than a decade and have no promotion path, it's pure torture. We're long since tapped out of ideas and are scraping the bottom of the barrel all the time just to avoid downleveling and salary cuts.
