Hello so currently I’m studying for my BS in information systems and have decided to go the cybersecurity route. I currently have no experience and I am doing an online class on the side for certification for IBM’s cybersecurity analyst certificate. I am currently looking at internships/what to do next to get my foot in the door. I’ve even looked into the idea of going back to my local community college for certification for security+ in Spring 2023 as i will be getting my bachelors this fall. Any advice/suggestions would really help! Thank you!

I started my career about an year ago. I graduated with comp sci degree and found my passion in cybersecurity towards the end of my senior year. After graduation I signed up for splunk training for free and rook the cert. Participated in hackthebox and tryhackme. Don't be afraid to put yourself in challenges. Someone will notice your work ethics. Don't give up.

  • Security encompasses a variety of roles that are in practice very different. What sort of work do you want to do?
