New grad, single, and I work in an office in downtown Bellevue. Currently I stay in Kent but am planning to move closer to the office. A tiny studio apt in DT Bellevue is really pricey, like min $1.9k in a building with mixed reviews. I have a car, so I was looking at surrounding areas. I saw DT Redmond is much cheaper, I can get an open 1 bedroom in a building with good reviews for the same price. So I'm really tempted to move there instead. But also heard DT Redmond is really bad for socializing. However I saw there are still some activities in Redmond, like rock climbing gym, decent amount of restaurants, bike trail, etc. Also, I thought Redmond would be isolated, but the driving time to Seattle from DT Redmond is only like 7-10 mins longer than from DT Bellevue, according to G maps. So how bad could DT Redmond be? Thoughts?
