I am interviewing for data scientist roles at tech companies. I am trying to compare offers and choose the best one. How do these offers compare?

Google - L5
Base - 187k with 15% bonus, 470k RSUs, TC 335

LinkedIn-- Staff Engineer
Base - 215 with 15% bonus, 675k RSUs, TC 416

Cruise- Staff data scientist
Base 240 + 30% bonus + 400k RSU, TC 412

I have Phd + 5YOE. I am leaning towards the Linkedin offer over the google one. I have decided to say no to Cruise and have an interview with Facebook soon.

1. Do you think google will match Linkedin? I am talking to the google recruiter tomorrow.

2. Is the LinkedIn salary in the range? Or should I negotiate? I was thinking of asking them to increase it to 430-440 TC. #dataanalytics #datascience #Linkedin #google #salary

Is linkedin a staff applied research engineer or a staff data scientist. The engineer role would require significant swe work. Be sure you are up for it.

Also linkedin is largely a java shop. So, if the role requires writing code, you might need to pick up java. Check with the manager about this as well.

Good to know about Google. I will see what the recruiter says. But good to have proper expectations.
