Just started as a Demand Gen Manager at a mid-market tech company. Dragged my feet for a few years working for small businesses and regret not moving into tech sooner.
I just landed my first six figure salary. I am happy where I’m at but want to continue to rise.
Tips for getting to 200k+ in 5 years? Do I need to be job hopping every 1.5 years?

Source: Interviewed with many such companies and 200k is falls well within their band.
Other locations base pay is around 160k with 6+YOE
You don’t need to necessarily change job jobs every year, but I would at least test the market every year to see where offers come in at and decide whether it’s worth switching or leveraging it for more money where you’re at.

If you find the right company, you may have your salary adjusted to help you get the comp you want -- don't just jump because you're bored / impatient.
Do it the right way and you'll be fine.
